- NBP BaRN
- National Bank of Poland regional housing report (Bankowa Analiza Rynku Nieruchomości). Publishes quarterly average transaction prices for 17 major Polish cities — not listing-site asking prices.

- NBP
- Narodowy Bank Polski — Poland's central bank. Source of BaRN housing market statistics and WIBOR interest rates.

- WIBOR 6M
- Warsaw Interbank Offered Rate — the benchmark interest rate Polish banks use to price variable mortgages. 6M is the six-month fixing commonly added to a bank margin.

- GUS
- Główny Urząd Statystyczny (Statistics Poland). Publishes official annual transaction prices, wages, dwelling stock, and condo maintenance costs — usually with more breakdown than NBP.

- EU statistics office. Provides harmonised house price and rent indices so Poland can be compared with Germany and other EU countries.

- Art 19b
- Polish law requiring developers to publish mandatory offer prices on data.gov.pl. These are asking prices for new-build units — not the same as NBP/GUS transaction averages.

- Transaction price
- Average price from completed property sales recorded in notarial deeds. Lags listing portals but reflects what buyers actually paid.

- Asking price
- The price a seller or developer advertises. Developer register (Art 19b) figures are asking prices; NBP/GUS figures are not.

- Primary market
- New-build homes sold by developers — first sale from the developer to a buyer.

- Secondary market
- Resale homes — transactions between private owners. Most NBP BaRN 'secondary' figures refer to this market.

- QoQ
- Quarter-on-quarter change — how much a figure moved compared with the previous three-month period.
- YoY
- Year-on-year change — comparison with the same quarter one year earlier.
- Gross yield
- Annual rent divided by property value, before costs. We use calibrated gross yields (~7%) to model rent from NBP sale prices when no rent series exists.

- Price-to-income
- Years of gross wages needed to buy a typical flat (here: 60 m² at NBP price/m²). A simple affordability yardstick.

- OSM
- OpenStreetMap — community map data we use for district amenity counts (metro, schools, parks, pharmacies, etc.).

- GTFS
- General Transit Feed Specification — standard format for public transport timetables. We use it to count tram/metro/bus lines near each district.

- PESEL
- Polish national identification number. Often required for rental contracts, bank accounts, and utility setup.
